Movement Day UK is being held in Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, a historic and iconic venue at the heart of London.

As central London’s largest conference venue, this Grade II listed building, built in 1912, enjoys a prime location opposite Westminster Abbey and is adjacent to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

Funded by the Methodist Church, it welcomes the Methodist congregation of Westminster to regular services in the Chapel and to Sunday Services in the Great Hall. The venue also hosts office space for multiple charities and a children's day centre.

Central Hall Westminster is located on Storey's Gate, across the road from Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament and can be easily accessed in a number of different ways.

Public transport

Underground
Westminster station - Jubilee, Circle and District lines.
St James' Park station - Circle and District lines.
Victoria station - Victoria, Circle and District lines.

Rail
Central Hall is within easy walking distance of Victoria, Charing Cross and Waterloo mainline stations.

Buses
Buses 11, 24, 148 and 211 pass the door. Buses 3, 12, 53, 53X, 87, 88, 109, 159 and 453 stop nearby.

Airports
Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Stansted and Luton, all serve central London.

Car parking

Public car parks operate in Abingdon Street, Horseferry Road, Rochester Row and Semley Place. There is also parking adjacent to the building on Tothill Street and Matthew Parker Street.

FLYING

London City Airport - is the closest to the venue. You can use your Oyster card to take the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from London City station.


Heathrow Airport - The Heathrow Express runs every 15 minutes between London Paddington station and all five Heathrow terminals. Fares start at £21 one-way. A cheaper alternative is to use your Oyster card and take the Piccadilly line on the Tube. It takes approximately an hour to Zone 1 stations.


Gatwick Airport - The Gatwick Express runs between London Victoria and the South Terminal train station every 15 minutes. Fares start at £17.75 when booked in advance online. You can use pay as you go with an Oyster or contactless card for journeys between London and Gatwick Airport on Southern, Gatwick Express and Thameslink services.


Stansted Airport - The Stansted Express takes 47 minutes to go between London Liverpool Street in the heart of the city and the airport, and 36 minutes to Tottenham Hale (to connect to Stratford and the London Underground Victoria Line for the West End). Trains depart every 15 minutes. Fares start from £7 per person each way when booked online in advance.

Food and Refreshments

There will be no refreshements served within the ticket price on Friday 6th October but on Saturday 7th October we will be serving sandwich grab bags in the tracks as part of the conference fee.

Central Hall Westminster has a lovely cafe in their basement that is open from 8-4pm weedays and 9-4pm at weekends. You can purchase from a  delicious range of hot and cold meals as well as fresh sandwiches, Panini and salads. The new daily special brings you a hearty lunch option for £5.30. In the afternoon they also serve a range of cakes, scones and biscuits to complement our wide selection of teas and coffees.

There are also plenty of cafe's and restaurants in the immediate vacinty of Westminster where you can buy some lunch and dinner and enjoy growing new friendships. There will be space made within the program for you to be able to go off site and purchase your meals.
